With the Women’s French Open final just hours away, one of France’s most celebrated tennis players Sandrine Testud is now preparing for success on the golf course at the Costa Smeralda Invitational. She will join sport stars Michael Ballack, Schalk Brits and Gianfranco Zola as she makes a return to Costa Smeralda to defend her title as women’s champion on June 17.
Testud, who was a regular in the world top rankings throughout her career, will play in the Celebrity golf tournament which takes place at Pevero Golf Club and will see big names from the world of sports and entertainment coming together to raise money for The Global Gift Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to create a positive impact on the lives of children, women and families who are in need.
Testud recorded up to seven career titles across both singles and doubles and reached the number 9 in the World rankings in 2010. She represented France at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and played the Fed Cup with her country in two occasions.
This year all the CSI golfers will be tested by the world’s greatest-ever female golfer Annika Sorenstam as they get a chance to ‘Beat the Pro’ at the stunning Pevero Golf Club. For the first time at CSI, former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash will run an exclusive tennis clinic and present a doubles tournament at the Cervo Tennis Club in the picturesque resort of Porto Cervo.
After the sporting events, all golfing guests and their partners will enjoy a fabulous Gala Dinner held at the magnificent Hotel Cala di Volpe. The evening will end with a charity auction to raise funds for the official Costa Smeralda Invitational 2017 charity, The Global Gift Foundation.
